This vintage 1850 restored Victorian farmhouse is a spacious landmark in the historic and quaint village of Pemaquid Beach. A 10-15 minute walk to Pemaquid Beach, Little Beach, Fort William Henry (Colonial Pemaquid) state park, as well as the two public boat ramps and two restaurants. Pemaquid Lighthouse, the Hardy Boat to Monhegan Island, galleries, a full-service grocery and more restaurants and lobster pounds are all within a five-minute drive. Not suitable for children under 13, but infants are OK.
This well-appointed, four-bedroom and two-bath farmhouse is surrounded by two acres of grassy lawn and several acres of forest. The front porch is a wonderful spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and a book, watch bald eagles or take in the sunset. The peaceful back deck is private with a dining table, ample seating, grill, hammock and a view of the forest. A spacious and modern kitchen with TWO dishwashers will meet all your culinary needs and let you spend your time at the beach, not doing dishes. When in season, eight high-bush blueberry bushes, as well as an apple tree and raspberries along the perimeter of the yard, will supply your pancake and muffin needs! If you are an early riser you may even catch wild turkeys or a fox wandering through the yard. Put the windows up at night and listen to the waves crash on the beach and the lobster boats set out in the morning. This home is beautifully decorated with original art and artifacts collected by the owners who have lived and traveled extensively on six continents.
Linens and towels are available at no additional charge. All bedrooms have fans. There are two bathrooms – both shared. The spacious kitchen/dining area has a smart TV and exits to both a front porch or back deck and hammock. There is also a washer/dryer. The upstairs great room includes a treadmill and Total Gym, big screen TV, stereo, and a large sofa that pulls out into a queen size bed. It also has A/C for use on the rare exceptionally hot day or two. Do not run continuously. Wireless internet and a telephone for local service are also included.
